Creating a conscious connection between the horizontal and vertical my objectives and methods are relatively simple. My most recent body of work, Architexture, was inspired by mid-century buildings so beautifully evident at every turn in Palm Springs. My art represents the way I desire to live my life. I want it to be simple and uncomplicated while still being bold and exciting.
I love coaxing a feeling of strength and vitality out of a few well chosen colors. The paintings project a double life without compromising their integrity as pure abstraction. The interior areas imply both depth of space while the flat surface makes it appear as if the viewer is looking both at and through each piece.
My modern approach toward expression is reflected by the fine line between abstract and representational work. With every day objects rendered in a hip, retro style, my compositions speak of the simpler time of the 50's era.
